Back In The Days...

When I was young I'm not a kid anymore. But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again.

Hmmm, I've been quite hesitant to blog about the holidays simply because I really don't know how to describe it. It was fun but the past couple of years it's been different. A lot of my cousins are married and have kids so they have to go to the in-laws too. I remember way back when Christmas used to be a marathon. We'd start at 6pm on Christmas Eve, go to Midnight Mass, open presents after, and just til until 4am. The next day we'd go to my grandparent's house and do the same thing, chill and play games for hella days. But nowadays all of us are old and have our own priorities. Mostly everybody was gone by 11pm on Christmas Eve and it was just me, my sister, and two cousins who went to Midnight Mass. We were hella tired and we all fell asleep right after mass. It's so different from that past but I'm still thankful that my family still gets together. I can't wait until all my nephews and nieces get older. It's sort of creepy of me but I enjoy when kids have fun. haha, I enjoyed watching them open all their presents and reacting to all their gifts from Santa.

I always seem to catch a low and be depressed after the holidays. I guess it's because we're always hella busy and Christmas is one of the few times we get together. When I was a kid, a lot of my cousins and I used to live on the same street so we'd always go to one of our houses and play Golden Eye 007, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Balderdash, Taboo, etc. (probably would've played Cranium too if it existed back then, haha). All of them now have found their own places, started their own families and such. I really miss those days but times change and you gotta grow up, right?

i know you enjoy it when kids have fun ;)

haha forrealz though. it's kinda sad how we're at the stage in life where christmas doesn't really feel as if it's for us. we're a bit too old for receiving a bunch of gifts, too young to do what the older kids do (drink, buy everyone gifts, have all those responsibilities), and too different from the newer generation so we can't really enjoy christmas the same way we did as kids (we don't even bring video games to each other's houses anymore!). but at the same time, it's a great time to finally see family after being away from home for quite a while!
