When I was young I'm not a kid anymore. But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again.
Hmmm, I've been quite hesitant to blog about the holidays simply because I really don't know how to describe it. It was fun but the past couple of years it's been different. A lot of my cousins are married and have kids so they have to go to the in-laws too. I remember way back when Christmas used to be a marathon. We'd start at 6pm on Christmas Eve, go to Midnight Mass, open presents after, and just til until 4am. The next day we'd go to my grandparent's house and do the same thing, chill and play games for hella days. But nowadays all of us are old and have our own priorities. Mostly everybody was gone by 11pm on Christmas Eve and it was just me, my sister, and two cousins who went to Midnight Mass. We were hella tired and we all fell asleep right after mass. It's so different from that past but I'm still thankful that my family still gets together. I can't wait until all my nephews and nieces get older. It's sort of creepy of me but I enjoy when kids have fun. haha, I enjoyed watching them open all their presents and reacting to all their gifts from Santa.
I always seem to catch a low and be depressed after the holidays. I guess it's because we're always hella busy and Christmas is one of the few times we get together. When I was a kid, a lot of my cousins and I used to live on the same street so we'd always go to one of our houses and play Golden Eye 007, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Balderdash, Taboo, etc. (probably would've played Cranium too if it existed back then, haha). All of them now have found their own places, started their own families and such. I really miss those days but times change and you gotta grow up, right?

Why Am I Still Up?
I don't know why I'm still up. I gotta wake up at 5am to go to Simbang Gabi. But I guess I'll blog about my rather uneventful week.
Tuesday: Michael and I went to Bellarmine to pick up our yearbooks, finally. They yearbook staff always hands them out in September because people don't like the yearbook supplements so we weren't able to get our yearbooks since we were already in college. It was weird being back on campus. Didn't really spend that much time there except to pick up our yearbooks. After we went to El Grullo to relive our free period days. haha. Those burritos aren't as good as they used to be even though it hasn't changed at all. It was so random because while we were eating we saw Becca walking outside. haha. Ends up that Becca, Justin Kim, Joe, Jeremy, Sam, and Kwong were planning to go to Berkeley to visit the Cal kids. Anyways, after Michael and I went to Valley Fair to look for his White Elephant present. We were hella bored so we went to Starbucks and Santana Row after. We did random stuff like check out where the new Pinkberry's supposed to be, checked out the Container Store, and spent hella time at Best Buy. Ran into Jon Chan there... haven't seen him since May, dang. I dropped Michael back home and then I went to go shoot around at Lake Elizabeth because it had been raining for the past two or three days and I really wanted to shoot some hoops. So I ended up shooting around in 30-40 degree weather. haha
Wednesday: Uneventful. The weather report said the night temperature was going to be 33 degrees so I put a water bottle outside to see if it would freeze. Obviously, it didn't. Failed experiment? or Successful experiment? Well, at least we know water doesn't freeze in 33 degree weather. So it's true, the freezing point of water is 32 degrees. After I checked the water bottle, I went to Simbang Gabi and the food was kinda nasty. It was all cold and stuff. I made it a goal to go to Simbang Gabi and stay up until midnight but that didn't happen. Took a 2 hour nap right when I got back home. I was supposed to go to the mall with my sister and then go to La Vic's after Lennard's last final but both plans fell apart. I just ended up chilling at home. haha
Thursday: I went to the Optometrist to get a new prescription. The wait was ridiculously long. I was 8 minutes late for my appointment (being a typical Filipino) and my mom and I ended up waiting one hour to see the doctor. He probably didn't even see me for more than 15 minutes. The first thing he did was do the puffer machine thing where they blow air into your eye. I hella hate anticipating it and stuff and he ended up doing it like 5 times to me. haha. My prescription jumped from -1.25 to 1.75. Might try out some contacts when I send in my glasses to get the lenses swapped. After, my mom, sister, and I went to Banh Thai for lunch. Mmmm, I love Thai food. Pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and praram long song (chicken in peanut sauce) is hella good. Also got a haircut. I wonder if I should grow it out again. haha. That's all I remember doing Thursday.
Friday: My parents woke me up to go to Simbang Gabi at 5am. I stayed in bed, though, and eventually fell back asleep. I finally woke up at 1030 to go to Costco with my mom to get some ingredients since her prayer group is sponsoring the food for Sundays Simbang Gabi mass. Had in-n-out for lunch. After, I headed to Lennard's to play some 2k9. We played a good 3 hours of 2k9. haha, Had some pretty good nail biters and down to the wire games. I went to go see Four Christmases with Rhea later that night. I hadn't been to Union Landing/Century 25 in so long. haha The movie was pretty good but I wish we had watched Twilight, HSM3, or something else simply because it would've made for a much more interesting blog entry. haha. We hit up BJ's after to got a pizookie. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It was unbelievably hard to find parking even though the only places in the complex were Mervyn's and BJ's. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when the wait time for a table was 45 minutes. So we just ended up getting a White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Pizookie to go. We had no where to eat it so we went across the street to Newpark to devour it at the food court. haha!
Saturday: I didn't really do much. I was supposed to play some ball with Justin Kim, Joe, Ian, and a bunch of Korean in Milpitas but I couldn't find the place off Montague so I just ended up going back home. I also made a last effort to find my sister's requested Christmas present of socks and basketball shorts with pockets. Surprisingly, it is really difficult to find some nice bball shorts with pockets. I finally gave up and asked my sister what else she wanted for Christmas.
It's almost one... I should go to bed. 4 hours of sleep!

Do the Charlie Brown.
It's almost Christmas! Hence the Charlie Brown reference...
Hmm, enough about school. It's break and it's time to relax! I think I've done too much relaxing because I haven't really done that much since I've been back. haha I've spent a lot of time DLing torrents and organizing my iTunes library. haha. I finished fixing up my library on Saturday so now it looks somewhat neat and presentable now. I got rid of like 8 gigs of doubles from Vu. haha That's why our compatibility on Last.fm is Super. Yeah yuh.
Anyways, I got back on Friday afternoon. Surprisingly, the bus ride was shorter (3 1/2 hours as opposed to 4 hours) but also a lot less comfortable than last time. When we arrived in San Jose, Grace's parents brought us to eat pho downtown. It was hella good. I had some in SLO for the first time about 7 weeks ago but it doesn't compare to the authentic pho of SJ! Didn't do too much when I got home. I watched the Warriors get owned by the Rockets on national television. The best part of the game was when Jeff Van Gundy and Marc Jackson were talking about In-n-out fries and how Jeff Van Gundy thinks they're hella good. He was talking about how they should expand the franchise to the East Coast. haha Speaking of the East Coast, I want to go back to New York! Well, not during this time when it's cold but I want to visit my sister, go shopping, and visit all the good food places. It's hella boring being home alone.
Saturday was another uneventful day. I don't even remember what I did in the afternoon. I think I just spent most of the day cleaning up my iTunes. haha. I went to the 5 o'clock mass and after me and my sister were talking about frozen yogurt. We were like mmm... that sounds so good. Do you wanna go?! So we ended up going even though it was like 50 degrees and raining. haha
Sunday I did nothing... again. haha My sister and I were hella bored so we went to the mall for a little bit. There's absolutely no food at my house so I can't even snack on stuff when I'm bored. The only thing we have is hella persimmons so I've been munching on those. haha I was so bored that I made an account on imlikeinlovewithyou.com so I could play blockles. haha. I'm really frustrated right now though because it's not loading! What the hell... oh well, once I get it to work, I challenge you to challenge me. Hmmm, I also video chatted with some friends while mooching off my neighbors wifi so the lag was insane. haha Whatever. The best part of Sunday was discovering Simple Citizens.. thanks Rhea! Good find! I love trading music and discovering hella cool artists/songs.
So a couple of friends and I have been craving WingStop before Thanksgiving break. We weren't able to go then because we hit up Tapioca Express and BJ's for some pizookies. I want another pizookie... but that's besides the point. Anyways, Everett, Gabe, Grace, Karen, and I went to WingStop at Pacific Commons. I got the 10 wing combo: teriyaki and bbq. I wasn't brave enough to get atomic let alone mild hot. haha It was good but not as gratifying as getting a pizookie. We hella pigged out and went to Starbucks after too. I got the Green Tea Frap for the first time in a very long time. I thought it was really gross back then but after having it again, it tasted pretty good. Man, I've spent so much money on food since I've been back. I'm such a fatty. haha
Random dream:
So last night I dreamt that I stayed up hella late and went to sleep at 6am. My dad woke me up at 845 (this part is true) to drop him off at BART so I got up and I was like dang..... I'm so tired. haha. In reality I slept around 230. I don't know, I just thought it was really weird. I've had weirder dreams though.
Random thoughts:
Baron Davis reminds me of Kanye West
Rashard Lewis reminds me of T.I.
Rick Adelman reminds me of Hitler
Why does it always take me so long to blog?
I can't believe Christmas is in a week and a half!
It's Simbang Gabi time... my goal is to get up at 5am and go at least once (not go back to sleep, and stay up until at least midnight, then repeat) hahaha
Binya Binya.. wtf?

It's been a long time, since I left you...
(without a dope beat to step to)
Hmmm... I haven't bogged in awhile and I'm not sure whether I should make a huge entry or split it up into two. I guess I'll split it into two and talk about school first since that's all I blog about.
-I'm so glad this quarter is over. No more Chem! (at least until April). I put in so much effort and time to just pass that class. The final was ridiculous... the class average was 109/200.
-But anyways, I got a B- in English. Dang, I hella suck at writing. That's besides the point though. So, for the last week of school, my English teacher canceled the last two class meetings. The last day we did meet, all we did was fill out a teacher/class evaluation and watch old an old tape of when she was on Family Feud circa 1990.
-I spent so much time in the library during finals week but it was kinda fun studying? hahaha. Library will be my new hang out spot. Gotta get on the Dean's list this quarter and redeem myself for my lackluster grades!
Dang, my thoughts are so jumbled...

Thanksgiving Break
Wow, Thanksgiving Break went by way too fast. Just this time one week ago I was on my way home and now I'm here in my dorm room once again. Can't wait for these 10 days to fly by and be back in the Bay. Anyways, here's a breakdown of my vacation...
Tuesday: I took the amtrak bus back to San Jose with Grace and Karen around 1pm. Surprisingly, the bus ride wasn't bad at all. It took about 4 hours but I fell in and out of sleep during the whole trip so it didn't seem that long. Grace's dad took us home but it took over 2 hours to get from the San Jose Amtrak station to my house because we got lost. Didn't much when I got back home. I arrived to a empty house except for my sister who was "sitting up in her room." My dad had a 40% any book coupon at Border's so we spent a good hour there looking at books. Didn't find anything interesting.
Wednesday: Woke up at 10am to pick up my sister at SFO. It was hella fun driving again after so long. It sucked driving in the rain though so I made my sister drive back. haha. We were planning to go to Haight and check out some shops but we decided to just head back since it was hella raining and we were all hungry and wanted In-n-Out. That was such a good meal. Over lunch my sister was talking to us about her racist friend who doesn't like white people. My sister was telling us about how they wanted to get some hot chocolate at Starbuck's but her friend wouldn't let them since she hates big corporations since they're run by white people. So, they spent a good hour looking for a place to get hot chocolate. Later on they went to a bookstore and they found a book titled "101 Things White People Hate." So they skimmed through the book and believe it or not one of the things white people hate... big corporations... and then there was a big picture of a Starbucks. In disbelief, my sister's friend said "Oh hellllll no!" haha. Anyways, we just went home after eating In-n-Out and I waited for Vu to come back from Berkeley. I picked him up at Bart at around 5 and went to Tapioca Express to chill with David, Everett, Grace, and Sanchez. That almond milk tea was hella good. Everybody got calamari but with a different spice level so we were able to sample all the different levels of spiciness. haha I dropped Grace and Vu home and kidnapped Vu's Ipod. We swapped Itunes libraries so my library went from 15 gigs to 35 gigs. Woohoo! I have too much music now and I don't know where to start arranging all the songs.
Thursday: I tried to starve myself the whole day until dinner so I could feast. I ended up giving up and had a strawberry Pop Tart. Anyways, we headed two houses down to my Aunt's house around 5 or so. haha. Holiday's aren't as fun as they used to be since a lot of my cousin's are married and have kids. So usually they visit their in-laws first and then head over to family parties and then head out when it's the babies' bedtimes. It's hella crazy how all of the kiddies are big now. My cousin's one-year-old daughter likes to look at pictures of herself on his Iphone and she knows how to scroll through them. haha, not even my mom knows how to do that. Apparently one of my nephews is addicted to "Universal Mind Control" by Common and "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay. His mom has a CD with those songs on it and he memorized the track number for each. haha. He's only three years old but he hella jacked his dad's Iphone and started playing "UMC" and "Viva la Vida." He started singing along to "Viva la Vida" and hella breakdanced to "Mind Control." We all started laughing but he's self-conscious when people laugh because he think's they're laughing at him. So he says, "That's not funny boys and girls!" and then my 31 year old cousin starts laughing even harder. hahaha Anyways, I had too much food that night. I started getting sleepy at 930 from all the food and I was sleepy for the rest of the night.
Friday: Black Friday! Didn't do that much shopping. I was supposed to wake up at 730 to go shopping with my sisters but being the lazy Asis kids we are, we overslept. We ended up waking up at around 10 so we just ended up going to Verizon before heading to the mall. We got new phones but it took like 3 hours so we went out to lunch while waiting for our phones to get activated and our contact lists to get transferred. After we went to Newpark where my sisters went crazy at Forever 21. I didn't get much... 2 pairs of jeans and a jacket. My mom and sister's dropped me off across the street at BJ's where I met up with David, Gabe, Grace, Vu, Ryan, and Franklin... our Fremont Contingent + Gabe of the Bellarmine/ND people. The only reason we went was for them pizookies. mmmmmm. I got a white chocolate macadamia nut pizookie. hella good. I hella pigged out that day because my sister had friends over and they ordered round table pizza so I had some about an hour after I came back from BJs. haha. My sister had a game night with her friends so I joined in and we played Apples to Apples and Cranium.
Saturday: In my sister's quest to get every possible type of food you can only get on the West Coast, we went to Fremont Taqueria to get Carne Asada Fries. It's so insane and so unhealthy: french fries topped with carne asada, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. My parents got the crazy idea to take family portraits and even more surprising, my sisters agreed and wanted to do it. We ended up taking family pictures at JC*Penny. There was this person posing us for the pictures and her boss was hella on her saying how she needs to work on her spacing and how she poses people. That was pretty annoying. Anyways, whenever she'd take a picture she's make us say "Stinky Feet" or "Pickles" haha. hella random. Nobody but my sister said it because no one wanted to mess up their smile. Later that night I went grocery to get some stuff to bring back to SLO and then I headed over to Lennard's. We played NBA 2K9 on PS3 and Halo. Man, I hella suck at video games.
Sunday: Maybe Holy Spirit switched things up since I've been gone or maybe they're tight on cash because for the first half of the mass they didn't have the lights on. haha Anyways, after church we want to Banh Thai. mmmmmm. We got pineapple fried rice, pad thai, chicken in peanut sauce, and thai tea. We didn't finish the pineapple fried rice so we asked for a box so we could bring it home. Normally, they served the pineapple fried rice in a hollowed out pineapple. For some odd reason, my parents wanted to keep the pineapple so they stuck it in the take out box even though it obviously didn't fit. Left for SLO around 245 and got back around 6. We went to Splash Cafe and I had clam chowder in a bread bowl. Hella good. I spent this whole break pigging out. I can't wait to go home again and chill. 10 more days!
Tuesday: I took the amtrak bus back to San Jose with Grace and Karen around 1pm. Surprisingly, the bus ride wasn't bad at all. It took about 4 hours but I fell in and out of sleep during the whole trip so it didn't seem that long.

Full House
Sister: "You know what my DJ name would be if I were a DJ?"
Sister's Roommate: "No, what?"
Sister: "DJ Tanner! hahaha"
Sister's Roommate: "Oh... I must've missed that episode."

Success
My English paper I'm currently writing is about success. We basically have to define success and prove/disprove that society is obsessed with success. Looking for inspiration, I asked my friends what success means to them. One of them told me, "Success is the absence of failure." Good answer, but I don't think that what I should define success as in my paper. I got bored an Wiki-ed success and sure enough, it said success is the absence of failure! haha. I also looked up success on UrbanDictionary and this came up. I think this'll be going in my paper...
They're Breakdance Fighting!
Lately I've been receiving a bunch of breaks. On Thursday, we were working on an in-class assignment in English class and our teacher said we'd be working on the assignment on Thursday and Friday. However, unbeknownst to her, we had a paper due on Friday and she was unaware that tomorrow was Friday. Usually when our drafts are due, we have peer editing groups. So, a guy in my class asks, "What about our paper?" Our teacher responds "What paper?" and everybody looks flabbergasted. She then says, "You know what, let's just move that to Tuesday." Being the lazy college students we are, everybody is really happy. However, that just meant staying up until 2am on Tues and Wed working on that paper was useless. But whatever, it's 1am on Sunday and I'm still not finished. Anyways, she goes on to say "Ok, tomorrow we'll discuss what we'll do on Friday," again forgetting that the following day is Friday. So after a 10 second pause, she goes "I'll just cancel class for Friday." Wtf? Hell yeah!
I also caught a break in Calculus. I didn't do my Calculus homework on Thursday because I had an engineering project and after I finished I just stayed up til 2am iChatting/TokBoxing it up. haha Anyways, the problems were hella hard so I didn't bother wasting my time trying to figure them out (I have such good time management...). So I went to class Friday with the problems re-written on graph paper with a couple of problems I tried to do and all the other ones blank. After going nearly every problem on the hw, she says, "You know, since these are all hard problems and you guys have a midterm on Monday, I'll let you guys keep the homework and give all of you credit for doing it." haha, I still gotta study for that midterm tomorrow though.

The Weather
Simpson's Reference:
Spelling Bee Guy: Okay, your word is "whether"
Lisa: Um, which one? Could you use it in a sentence?
Spelling Bee Guy: Certainly.. "I don't know whether the weather will improve."
What is up with this SLO/Central California weather? Just the other day I was taking a nap after class and the only reason I woke up was because it was so cold and my fingers were becoming numb. But today was the complete opposite: low 90s reminiscent of summer. Hella weird whether in the middle of November. I don't know whether I should stalk up on some thermals and scarves or on some shorts and t-shirts.

Guilt Trip?
Yesterday there was something going on in the UU and they people were handing out flyers and stuff. So I got this coupon with 30% any apparel item in the bookstore but along with that coupon was another flyer urging people to boycott Cal Poly products since there was a hate crime last week and the administration hasn't done as much as they can to punish the people. But anyways, I ended up using the coupon. Is that bad of me? haha
Stressed for Success?
My English teacher likes to give us a lot of in-class responses and a couple of days ago she gave us this article. We had to write about whether we agreed or disagreed with the writer. I found the reading pretty interesting and for the most part I agree. It's sort of weird knowing that I'm done with the college app process but I still found this a good read.

Woe is Me in Chemistry
My Chemistry teacher isn't the greatest of teachers and I don't really learn anything sitting through her lectures. I haven't gotten to the point where I actually skip class entirely but instead I've done other things to keep my occupied. So, I've tried learning how to spin a pen on my finger, learning the magic fingers a la Tony Tran, and writing with my left hand trying in hopes of become ambidextrous (even though it takes a lot longer to write with my left hand). Anyways, I don't know why I'm still up. I have my Engineering class at 7am and 2nd Chemistry Exam in 11 hours. Anyways, by the end of the quarter, I will hopefully learn these while sitting through Chemistry.

Vegetarianism
Hmmmm, I'm writing a paper on vegetarianism right now and I googled the positives and negatives for vegetarianism. For some reason I found the "it tastes good" argument for meat funny. But I agree, it tastes good.
Yahoo answers:
"1) we have a natural desire to eat meat - we've been doing it since the dawn of man
2) our bodies are designed to eat and digest meat
3) meat tastes ******* nice
4) meat is a good source of protein and other nutrients
5) i see no moral reason to stop eating meat. animals kill other animals. we're an animal; don't delude yourself. it's called the food chain
6) the slaughter of animals keeps them from over-populating
7) which in turn can do damage to the environment i.e. high methane levels
8) if everyone was vegetarian farmers and shops would lose money, go out of business, plus everybody would be unhappy on such tasteless diets :(
9) just to reiterate, it tastes damn good. i'd rather live to 80 and eat a lot of tasty meaty meals than live to 85 and eat rabbit food"

That feeling
Have you ever had that feeling when taking a test? You do fine on the first page, turn to the next, and have no idea how to do any of it? Happened to me in chem. I tore through the first page but when I turned to the second I had no idea how to do any of it. All of the questions used one formula and I didn't remember it. Worst part is that the first page was 10 points and the second page was 30 points. Oh well, 6 more weeks of this teacher. Time to hit the books.

Proof of my laziness
The other week I was doing laundry and I was putting my clothes into the dryer. I noticed that I forgot to bring fabric softener with me and was too lazy to go up three flights of stairs back to my room to grab one. So I stood there a second and thought about what I should do. Looking around I saw some on the ground and thought to myself, "I guess I could use this." I picked up the one that looked the most unused but there ended up to be hella dust on it. So I just picked up another one and stuck it in the dryer. haha
